Police inquiry initiated
Since Karnataka Police failed to take stern action against the cow smugglers, they could now dare to threaten to kill the District Officer. When will the Government, Administration, and Police realise that mere law does not hold back the cow slaughter; it calls for rigorous implementation and stiff penalty to the perpetrators ?
Mangalore (Karnataka) – South Karnataka District Officer Sindhu B. Rupesh who appealed to hand over the cow smugglers to the Police received a death threat on social media.
- In a meeting at the District Office, Sindhu B. Rupesh said that – The citizens should hand over the cow smugglers to the Police on apprehension. The public should not overstep the law. Strict legal action will be taken against cow transporters and assaulters.
- After the news of the District Officer’s appeal was published, a threat in Tulu language saying ‘District Officer must be killed’ was posted on Whatsapp.’ The post became viral immediately.

The matter is under investigation ! – Police
DCP Arunangshu Giri said, ‘The investigation of the case has been initiated and the matter has already been discussed with the District Collector. If we get a complaint we will accept it to file, else we ourselves would lodge a complaint proactively. The threat will not be neglected for any reason.’
