Kolkata – The death of Devendranath Ray MLA from Hemtabad Bengal is a suicide. The case was handed over to CID for investigation. Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee gave this information. She sent a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind and alleged that the BJP is spreading misleading information.
In this letter, Mamta stated, ‘According to the post mortem report and initial inquiry by Bengal Police, the death of Ray is a suspected suicide. A note recovered from Ray mentioned the names of two persons involved in giving loans, etc. This could be the cause of suicide. However, the BJP committee presented the wrong information. Hence, please intervene personally and look into the details and facts.’

BJP alleges murder
The body of MLA Ray was found hanging from the ceiling of a veranda near his home in Bindal village in the North Dijnapur District. BJP asserted that this was a murder. The BJP District President Dilip Ghosh and committee members met President Kovind recently and asked him to dismiss the Mamta Banerjee Government.
