264 cr. Sattarghat bridge inaugurated a month back washed away

Those who are responsible for carrying out such a faulty construction and wasting public money should be put in jail for life.

Gopalganj (Bihar) – The 264 crore Sattarghat bridge on Gandak river was washed away in rains in Bihar’s Gopalganj. It was inaugurated by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar last month. With the sudden collapse of the newly constructed bridge, many Districts of Champaran, Tirhut and Saran were cut off.

Due to heavy rains, Bihar is facing severe flood situation. On 15th July, Gopalganj witnessed overflow of more than 2 lakh cusecs. These rains may have been the reason for washing away of the bridge.

Bihar opposition leaders  took a dig at CM

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav attacked the Chief Minister on the issue. “The Sattarghat bridge of Gopalganj built at a cost of Rs. 263.47 crore in 8 years, was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar on 6th June. Today, 29 days later the bridge collapsed. Beware ! If someone terms it corruption by Nitish ji. Rs 263 crore is for just a glimpse. Even their rats consume alcohol worth this amount,” Tejashwi Yadav tweeted in Hindi.
