Indian and Chinese soldiers involved in a brawl on Sikkim border

4 Indian and 7 Chinese soldiers sustain minor injuries.
It is expected that the Central Government should put a check on such acts of hooliganism from China.

Gangtok (Sikkim) – There was an argument followed by a brawl involving Indian and Chinese soldiers on the Indo-Chinese border, in the Naku La sector of North Sikkim. Soldiers from both sides, 4 Indian and 7 Chinese sustained minor injuries. This caused tension at the border for some time. However, the problem was resolved by holding talks at the local level. According to the Army sources, such an incident has taken place after a long time. The soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army are on a continuous patrol on the borders from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.

In 2017, China tried to build a road in Sikkim, which was strongly opposed by India. This road was being constructed in the Chumbi valley, which is just 5 km away from the Siliguri highway (Chicken Neck). This road connects India with the eastern States. China wanted to construct this road only to obstruct this road.
