Russia has declared ‘shadow war’ against the USA and Europe

Washington – The US-based ‘Center for Strategic and International Studies’ (CSIS) has said in its report that a large part of the world is currently embroiled in war. ‘CSIS’ has said that Russia has declared a ‘shadow war’ against the US and Europe. Russia is carrying out cyber-attacks and espionage against the US and Europe. The aim is to weaken the assistance that Ukraine is receiving from Western countries. There is a direct war on one side and a ‘shadow war’ is going on, on the other side, the ‘CSIS’ report claims.

1. According to this report, there has been an increase in incidents such as explosions at military bases, hacking of Government emails, and rupture of undersea cables in Europe in recent times.

2. According to ‘CSIS’, the ‘shadow war’ initiated by Russia is posing a threat to the 29 countries of the ‘North Atlantic Treaty Organization’ (NATO) and to global security.

3. Russia is targeting critical infrastructure such as energy and transportation systems. This could jeopardize systems connected to North America.

What is a ‘Shadow War’ ?

‘Shadow war’ is a form of covert armed conflict in which adversaries often attempt to destroy a country through cyber attacks, economic sanctions, or covert military operations, rather than engaging in direct military conflict.
