NRC will be conducted across India : Home Minister Amit Shah

This is a praiseworthy decision taken by the BJP Government ! After the NRC is conducted, Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Rohingya Muslims can be identified as living illegally in India. The Government should take their cognizance and deport them immediately.

New Delhi – A National Register of Citizens (NRC) would be implemented across the country which would require replicating the just-concluded exercise in Assam, Home Minister Amit Shah said in Rajya Sabha on 20th November, assuring that no discrimination would be made on the basis of religion.

Stating that the Government was sticking to BJP’s poll promise to catalogue all citizens, Shah said, “NRC process in Assam was conducted under an order of the Supreme Court and a separate law. When NRC will be launched across the country then, naturally, the exercise will be repeated in Assam”.

Sources said a nationwide NRC can only happen after the National Population Register (NPR) is updated, which will be done alongside the Census 2021 exercise. After the verification process of NPR, the process of NRIC (National Register of Indian Citizens) can begin.

As of now, the NPR exercise is not being taken up in Assam and the final NRC published recently will be updated along with the NRIC.

Shah strongly stood by the Citizenship Amendment Bill which aims to provide citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians and Parsis from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan who have fled to India to avoid religious persecution. “Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain, Christian, Parsi refugees should get citizenship and this is why the Citizenship Amendment Bill is needed so that these refugees, who are being discriminated on basis of religion in Pakistan, Bangladesh or Afghanistan, get Indian citizenship,” he said.

Mamata Bannerji opposes Citizenship Amendment Bill

There has been opposition from various political parties on the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on 18th November called it ‘another trap like the National Register of Indian Citizens’. (Everyone knows that Bangladeshi infiltrators are enjoying a free run in Bengal. Once the exercise of NRC is completed by the Government, this fact will be exposed. The people are aware that Mamata Banerjee is opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill to hide her nefarious designs. – Editor)
