The High Court ordered demolition drive against the temples in Delhi suspended after the intervention of the Chief Minister

New Delhi – A Delhi Development Authority team arrived at 3 a.m. on March 20 to demolish temples in Mayur Vihar area here. However, following protests by local BJP MLA Ravindra Negi and Hindu organisations, the proceedings were stopped following an order from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The temples, which are in the green belt, will be demolished on the orders of the Delhi High Court. Hindus claim that these temples are very old. After a petition was put in Supreme Court by the temple side in this case, court has asked it to go to High Court again. Vishnu Shankar Jain is advocating for temples.

MLA Ravindra Negi said that the temple is a place connected with our faith, culture and feelings of the society. We will always be ready to protect the religion, faith and sentiments of the people.

The temples here are managed by The Kali Badi Samiti, Shri Amarnath Temple Sansthan and Shri Badrinath Temple.
