Statement by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Bahraich (UP) – When the whole world is appreciating India’s culture and traditions, no foreign invader should be glorified. Glorifying an invader means strengthening the foundation of treason. No traitor who insults the great men of independent India can be accepted, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, criticising the supporters of Aurangzeb and Syed Salar Masood Ghazi, nephew of Muhammad Ghazni, without naming them.

A fair was being organised in the name of Ghazi in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, for the past several centuries. Permission has been denied for it since this year. The same Ghazi fair is also organised in Bahraich and Barabanki. His grave is in Barabanki.

It is clear from the above statements of the Chief Minister that permission will be denied there too. Against this backdrop, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has submitted a representation to the administration not to allow the Ghazi fair to be organised in Bahraich.
