Kolkata – The political atmosphere in Bengal is heating up ahead of next year’s assembly elections. The conflict between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is escalating, particularly around the upcoming Ram Navami celebrations. This year’s Ram Navami coincides with the Maha Kumbh year, making it especially significant.

Against this backdrop, BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has issued a direct challenge to the ruling Trinamool Congress, declaring, “This year, Ram Navami will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. Lakhs of Hindus will participate in Ram Navami processions across the state. Any attempt by the Trinamool government to stop these processions will be met with strong resistance. You do not have the power to silence the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram,’” Adhikari warned the Trinamool leadership.

1. Accusations of Appeasement : Suvendu Adhikari accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of appeasing a particular community, claiming that her political dominance is nearing its end.

2. Call for Hindu Unity : He asserted that Hindus will rule India and that any leader who protects the interests of Hindus in Bengal will lead the state. Adhikari urged Hindus to participate in the Ram Navami processions with flags and tilak on their foreheads, stating that Hindus will no longer tolerate the open appeasement of one community or attempts to suppress the Ram Navami festival.

3. Mass Participation : Adhikari announced that on April 6th, more than 2,000 processions will take place across the state for Ram Navami, with an estimated 1 crore Hindus participating. He highlighted that last year;50 lakh Hindus took part in 1,000 processions.

4. Allegations of Vandalism : Adhikari alleged that during the last Durga Puja period, Hindu temples were vandalized in the state. He claimed that jihadi elements were behind these incidents and accused certain Trinamool Congress leaders of supporting them.
