Four members of a Hindu family attacked in Gopalganj district

Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh continue !

Gopalganj (Bangladesh) – According to the organisation Bangladesh Minority Watch, four members of a minority Hindu family were attacked in Kashiani in Gopalganj district. The attack is said to have stemmed from a long-standing dispute with a neighbouring Muslim family over voting in the national elections. The neighbour, Ajibur Molla, a member of the Union Parishad, allegedly attacked the Hindu family along with his associates using sticks and locally made weapons.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of 25 June in Ramdia East Para village under Bethuri Union in Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj district. The injured are Kshitish Biswas (65), his wife Tulshi Biswas (50), their daughter Iti Rani Biswas (30), and their grandson Debraj Biswas (15). A written complaint has been lodged with the Police regarding the incident.
