Uttar Pradesh

Aligarh: A Hindu woman from Delhi has accused a man named Ansar Ali of cheating, forced marriage and harassment. Ansar initially lured her into a romantic relationship using a false identity with the name ‘Rahul’. He promised marriage and later got married to her in a temple. After marriage, she came to know his real name. Ansar started pressurizing her to get married as per Islamic law (nikah). After that, she was given triple talaq and halala (a divorced Muslim woman must have physical relation with other man before getting married again) was demanded from her. He injected her with narcotics, exploited her, held her hostage and even tried to sell her, the victim Hindu woman alleged. A case has been registered, and the Police have started an investigation.

Hardoi: Salman kidnapped a 19-year-old Hindu girl here by promising marriage. When the girl’s family opposed this, they were threatened with a gun. A case has been registered with the Police in this regard.

Madhya Pradesh

Indore: Bajrang Dal and VHP workers caught Irfan Khan, a resident of Rajasthan, from a bus. Irfan was trying to forcefully take a Hindu girl from Bihar to Kota. The girl said that Irfan called her to Indore. He was pressurizing her to travel to Kota against her will. Irfan was handed over to the Police.

Case of attempted conversion in Uttarakhand

In Gangolihat of Pithoragarh district, a Hindu youth, Vivek Singh, made serious allegations against a Muslim woman named Yasmin from Delhi. Vivek said, ‘On the pretext of love affair, this woman pressured me to convert and threatened to kill me when I refused. Also, my son was forcibly circumcised.’ A case was registered against 4 members, including Yasmin, her parents and other relatives.
