Will go to war against India if our ‘water’ is threatened : Pak Defense Minister

Pak Defense Minister threatens India over suspension of Indus Waters Treaty

Islamabad (Pakistan) – “Water is a part of our national security and the moment we feel our national security is threatened, we will go to war against India,” said Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on the suspension of Indus Waters Treaty by India. He was speaking in an interview with a news channel.

India is using water as a weapon

Khawaja Asif said that India is using water as a weapon. (Pakistan has been using Jihadi terrorism to fight war against India since last three and a half decades. If India retaliates now, why is Pakistan outraged ? – Editor). Due to this, the flow of Chenab River flowing in Pakistan has now been obstructed. Pakistan has inspected the infrastructure projects going on at various places along this river in India. Although 115 places have been inspected so far, the latest information for the last year has not been received yet. Pakistan will take aggressive steps only after getting concrete evidence that India is making rapid efforts to stop the water, Asif said.

India’s Union Minister for Water Resources C.R. Patil had recently indicated that the water of the river flowing into Pakistan would be completely stopped by the year 2028. Khwaja Asif was reportedly responding to this.

Pakistan is facing trouble

After India announced its withdrawal from the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, one-third of Pakistan’s population, mainly in Sindh and Balochistan provinces, is currently facing severe water shortage. Pakistan gets 80 percent of its water from the Indus Valley, and agriculture, which uses 80 percent of its land, has also been hit hard.

Editorial Perspective

Pakistan knows how its wars with India ended so far ! If it wants to fight another was with India, India should not stop until Pakistan is divided into 4 parts.
