Anand was murdered out of revenge after he had slapped Nasir for harassing his niece

Sant Kabir Nagar (Uttar Pradesh) – On 18 June, a man named Nasir Ali brutally beheaded Anand, a Hindu Dalit young man, in a busy marketplace here. Anand had slapped Nasir for harassing his niece. To avenge this, Nasir and his associates surrounded Anand late at night while he was returning from the market and slit his throat with a sharp weapon.
Following the incident, enraged villagers blocked the road. They remained firm in their demand that Nasir be arrested and killed in a police encounter. After the incident, the entire police force, including the Additional Director General of Police, the Deputy Inspector General of Police and the Superintendent of Police, has been deployed in Sant Kabir Nagar, and a search is underway for Nasir and his accomplices.
