Maulana Izhar arrested from a Mosque in Madhubani, Bihar

Madhubani (Bihar) – Maulana Izhar-ul-Haq (50 years old), the operator of a madarasa, has been arrested at Madhubani in Bihar. He has reportedly acted as an agent for Pakistan and has been involved in forming sleeper cells in Bihar. Bihar’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested him as part of an investigation into a “radical module” operating across five states.

1. Izhar, who was living in a rented house within the jurisdiction of the Pandaul Police Station in Madhubani district, was running a madarasa. Investigators reportedly recovered inciteful videos from his mobile phone, including videos advocating the enforcement of Sharia law in India. He has been involved in arranging funding for the radical module. (What kind of education might be imparted in such a madarasa needs no separate explanation. The Government should shut down this madarasa as well. – Editor)

2. Izhar was arrested following the interrogation of terrorist Mohammad Faraz, alias Khalid, who had previously been nabbed in the Qazi Camp area of Bhopal.

3. Earlier arrests connected to the same module included Naim Abdullah from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Shakir Mew from Alwar in Rajasthan, and Haji Azhar from Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently, another individual named Shakir was detained in Nuh, Haryana, in connection with the same investigation.
