
Kasaragod (Kerala) – A 19-year-old college student from Cheruvathur in Kasaragod district, Kerala, died by suicide after consuming rat poison because she was unhappy about her marriage being arranged with a madarasa teacher. The deceased, Mubashira, was the daughter of U. Abdul Rahman and U. M. Fathima, residents of Kaithakkad-Payyanki Bismillah Road.
Mubashira was a student at Alwarda Women’s College. Her parents had recently arranged her marriage to a madarasa teacher, and the engagement had already taken place. According to the Chendera Police, after consuming poison, Mubashira was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, Karnataka, on 2 June. She underwent treatment in the intensive care unit for several days; however, she passed away at around 5:30 p.m. on 10 June. The Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
