Fleet of 15 vehicles deployed in Amravati to transport NEET question papers

Amravati – Following the question paper leak controversy involving the NEET examination, the examination is now scheduled to be held again on 21 June. Against this backdrop, the NEET question papers were transported to Amravati city from Mumbai by helicopter. A convoy of 15 vehicles and a heavy Police security arrangement were deployed for the operation. The question papers were transported under tight security to the Amravati District Treasury Building. The entire route from the airport to the Treasury Building was placed under stringent security cover. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force were also deployed.

Editorial Perspective

  • The need to deploy such a massive security apparatus merely to transport examination question papers highlights shortcomings in the earlier security arrangements. It also places an additional financial and administrative burden on Government machinery.
  • Students would like to see the accused in the question paper leak case punished as swiftly and severely as possible, even before the examination results are declared, so that justice is delivered in the matter.
