Everyone's participation is essential for the success of the Kumbh Mela: Girish Mahajan, Kumbh Mela Minister

Nashik – Preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, to be held here next year, have got off to an auspicious start with the foundation stone-laying and worship ceremony of the flagstaff. ‘The participation of the government, administration, Saints, Mahants, various social and, religious organisations and citizens is necessary to conduct the upcoming Kumbh Parva in a clean, safe and grand manner. Everyone should take the initiative to host devotees coming from all over the country and abroad for the Simhastha Kumbh Parva,’ appealed Kumbh Mela Minister Girish Mahajan.
Organised by the Shri Ganga Godavari Panchkothi (Tirth) Purohit Sangh, Nashik, the foundation stone-laying and worship ceremony of the Simhastha Kumbh Parva flagstaff was held at the sacred Ramkund in Nashik on the occasion of Kamala Ekadashi, in the presence of Kumbh Parva Minister Girish Mahajan, amid chants in praise of Lord Shri Ram and the recitation of Vedic mantras. He was speaking at the ceremony.
Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharya Maharaj, Mayor Himgauri Adke-Aher, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Kumbh Mela Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Satish Shukla of Purohit Sangh, along with the heads of various akhadas, Saints, and Mahants were present on this occasion.
Minister Girish Mahajan said on this occassion,
1. It is expected that next year’s Simhastha Kumbh Parva will attract four to five times more devotees than the previous Kumbh Parva, that is, more than 12 crore devotees. Therefore, the responsibility of making the Kumbh Parva a success lies with the government, administration and citizens.
2. Various organizations and devotees have taken the initiative to keep the Godavari River clean, and this cleanliness will not be limited to just one day but will be maintained continuously.
3. Every Nashik resident should take the initiative to become a volunteer to provide hospitality to devotees coming from India and abroad.
On this occasion, the Ganga and Godavari were worshipped by the dignitaries in a ritualistic manner. The puja ceremony was held in a devotional atmosphere amidst the sound of conch shells and applause from the attendees.
