Stones Thrown at TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee by a Mob

Hooghly (Bengal) – TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said he was injured after unknown objects were thrown at him by a mob. The incident took place outside Chanditala Police Station. He was going to the police station to submit a memorandum. Banerjee alleged that BJP workers threw a stone or a ball-like object at him and tried to injure him.

BJP has criticised that Banerjee was not injured and was merely putting on an act. TMC Leader and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee had been attacked by a mob on 30 May. He sustained minor injuries in the attack. Following the attack, TMC workers had staged a protest. The Police had arrested the protesters. Kalyan Banerjee was going to Chanditala Police Station to submit a memorandum seeking the release of the arrested protesters.
