Lakshmanpuri (Uttar Pradesh) – Non-violence should be the guiding principle of human life; however, when an individual becomes a threat to the nation and society, non-violence does not work. In such circumstances, the use of violence becomes necessary, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while addressing a programme here. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also present on the occasion.
🚨 "If anyone becomes a threat to the nation and society, then not non-violence, but force becomes necessary!" – Yogi Adityanath at the inauguration of the Nausena Shaurya Vatika in Lucknow
This principle is not new. Decades ago, Swatantryaveer Savarkar expressed a similar view… pic.twitter.com/VwFnQ0xqFU

Yogi Adityanath further stated that development can take place only in a secure environment. A nation’s strength determines its standing in the world. Only when we are strong on the security front will the world befriend us. If you are weak, no one bows before you. This principle can be seen in the actions of the country’s armed forces while confronting enemies of the nation. Just as the armed forces protect the country’s borders under all circumstances, it is also the duty of citizens to honour and respect the soldiers who safeguard the nation.
If another religion does not treat our religion with tolerance, then…!This statement made by Yogi Adityanath regarding the nation, resembles the views expressed by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar decades ago with regard to Dharma. Since India and Hindu Dharma are inseparably linked, his statement remains equally relevant even today. He had said: When another religion treats our religion with tolerance, then treating that religion with tolerance can be considered a virtue. However, when another religion does not treat our religion with tolerance, the principle of religious tolerance does not apply to such a religion. |
