General Subramani assumes charge as the country’s new CDS

(CDS means Chief of Defence Staff – the joint head of the Army, Navy, and Air Force)

New Delhi – General NS Raja Subramani assumed charge as the country’s new Chief of Defence Staff on 31 May. He has succeeded General Anil Chauhan, who retired on 30 May.

After assuming office, Raja Subramani said that the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Ministry of Defence, and all related institutions are united in strengthening the nation’s security. He said that the modernisation, procurement, and deployment of indigenous weapons and military equipment in the Indian Armed Forces would be accelerated. New ideas and new methods would be adopted to further enhance the military’s capabilities.
