Police deny permission to MLA T. Raja Singh’s Dharmasabha, due to pressure from Muslims!

  • Incident in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)

  • Police cite fear of crowding and stampede while denying permission

  • The meeting was organised by 'Dharmarakshak', a devout Hindu organisation

  • 'Dharmarakshak', a staunch Hindu organisation, had organised the Dharmasabha

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – A Dharmasabha (religious meeting) scheduled for May 31st here has been cancelled. Consequently, thousands of residents of Bhopal will miss the lecture by Hyderabad MLA T. Raja Singh, who is known for his staunch Hindu views. The Dharmasabha had been organised by the Hindu organisation ‘Dharmarakshak’; however, the Bhopal Police denied permission for the event citing law-and-order concerns.

‘Sanatan Prabhat’ received reliable information that the Police denied permission, yielding to pressure from Muslims. The organizers approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court against this Police order; but the event had to be cancelled as the Court had set a hearing date of June 1st, informed Bhopal District President of ‘Dharmarakshak’, Mr. Vivek Meshkar to ‘Sanatan Prabhat’. When contacted in this regard, Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar could not be reached.

I will hold a bigger meeting in Bhopal within a month: MLA T. Raja Singh

A representative of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ spoke to MLA T. Raja Singh regarding this issue. He said, ‘The Jihadis have been opposing me on social media for the past 10 days. They do not want me to come to Bhopal. I also gave a statement to the Police. Unfortunately, the Madhya Pradesh Police yielded under pressure from the Jihadis and denied permission for the meeting. This is shameful. Bhopal city is becoming a stronghold of ‘Love Jihad’. Hindu girls are being raped there every week. In fact, the Police should catch the ‘Love Jihadis’.

The Madhya Pradesh government should make a stricter law against ‘Love Jihad’. Instead of doing this, they are denying permission for Hindu meetings. Decisions should be taken in favor of Hindus when there is a saffron government in Madhya Pradesh. If such decisions are taken out of fear of the Jihadis, it will break the morale of Hindus. I think Chief Minister Mohan Yadav needs to think about this. I will hold a bigger meeting in Bhopal within a month.’

Muslims threaten to kill MLA T. Raja Singh

Muslims in Bhopal criticized MLA T. Raja Singh using extremely foul language. They also threatened to kill him. Mohammed Aamir Khan and a person named Araz posted on Instagram, ‘If Raja Singh makes a statement against Muslims, we will not let him leave Bhopal alive.’

Dharmarakshak Gramin’s Coordinator Mr. Shishupal Thakur said on this, ‘This is a very serious matter. Such Jihadis should be identified, and strictest action should be taken against them. Violence has no place in a democracy.’

Sequence of events

1. ‘Dharmrakshak’, a devout Hindu organization had organised a public Dharmasabha near the bus stand in Gandhinagar area of Bhopal. MLA T. Raja Singh was to address the meeting. The organisers had estimated that at least 5,000 Hindus would attend.

2. However, the Bhopal Police did not give permission for this. Citing law and order situation in the city, the Police told the organisers, ‘T. Raja Singh’s meeting cannot be allowed. You should invite other speakers.’ When the organisers requested a written order in this regard, on the night of May 26th, i.e. 5 days before the meeting, permission was denied to the meeting itself, citing the reason as possible crowding.

3. The reason given was that since the venue of the meeting is a crowded place, holding the meeting there could lead to crowding and stampede-like situations.

4. As the date of the meeting approached, the organisers went to Madhya Pradesh High Court on May 27th against the Police order. The Jabalpur Bench of the High Court stated that permission could not be granted without first knowing the Madhya Pradesh Government’s stand on the matter. During the hearing on May 29, it scheduled the next hearing for June 1. A request was also made to the Chief Justice at that time. ‘Dharmarakshak’ informed ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ that the Dharmasabha had to be cancelled because it was scheduled for May 31, before the next hearing could take place.

Actual reason behind the meeting being cancelled

About 15–20 days ago, tension had arisen between Hindus and Muslims in Bhopal over a case of Love Jihad.

National President of ‘Jamiyat-Ulema-e-Hind’, Maulana Arshad Madani, wrote a letter to the Union Home Ministry demanding that ‘T. Raja Singh’s proposed meeting in Bhopal should be cancelled’. After this, organisation’s Madhya Pradesh President, Haji Mohammad Haroon also met the Bhopal Police Commissioner and submitted a memorandum demanding that the meeting should not be allowed, citing concerns that Bhopal’s law and order could get disturbed.

Interestingly, permission was denied citing ‘crowding and possible stampede-like condition’ as the reason; But many political rallies have been held on this same ground in the past. Hence, there is anger among Hindus over the denial of permission for this Hindu rally.

Madhya Pradesh Police lack the ability to maintain law and order! – Dharmarakshak

In this regard, the District President of ‘Dharmrakshak’, Mr. Vivek Meshkar, while expressing his reaction to the representative of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, said that T. Raja Singh lives in Telangana. His speeches never disrupt the law and order there. This means that the Telangana Police is capable enough; but the Madhya Pradesh Police are afraid of these things. This means one can say that that the Madhya Pradesh Police do not have the ability to maintain law and order.

We will hold the Dharmasabha on whatever date the Court permits us to do so! – Advocate Atul Jeswani of ‘Dharmarakshak’

When we spoke to advocate Atul Jeswani, who is fighting in Court on behalf of ‘Dharmrakshak’ in this case, he said that according to ‘Section 30 Sub-section 2’ of the Police Act, the Police cannot deny permission for any program. We have complete faith in the judiciary. We will hold the meeting on the date that the Court gives us during the hearing on June 1st.

Editorial Perspective

  • Hindus do not expect this to happen when BJP is in power in all these three places, namely Bhopal municipal corporation, Madhya Pradesh State and the Centre!
  • Hindus should introspect! The government, administration, and Police bow to the demands of Muslims. The reason for this is their pressure and mob rule. How many Hindu organizations come together and exert such pressure that the government is forced to listen to them?
  • Madhya Pradesh Police are doing injustice to Hindus by flouting Articles 19A, 19B, 25 and 26 of the Constitution which provide freedom of religion, freedom of expression and freedom of speech.
