Details of the agreement are not yet available; however, according to a report, the Taliban Defence Minister requested a modern air defence system from Russia. Pakistan has been continuously carrying out attacks on Afghanistan in recent days. Afghanistan’s military strength is leas as compared to Pakistan’s. Therefore, the Taliban is trying to strengthen its military capabilities.

Editorial Perspective

On the one hand, Pakistan has long been alleging that India is using Afghanistan as a proxy to carry out anti-Pakistan activities. Now, it is not surprising that this defence agreement will leave Pakistan fuming.
