Declare cow a National Animal

Demand to the Union Government by the ‘Uttar Pradesh Muslim Mahapanchayat’ after namaz in Agra, Uttar Pradesh

Agra (UP) – After offering Bakri Eid namaz in Agra, office-bearers and activists of the ‘Uttar Pradesh Muslim Mahapanchayat’ held placards demanding that the Union Government declare the cow as the National Animal. The placards read, “Declare Gomata as the National Animal.” According to the office-bearers, “The cow is a symbol of the country’s culture and the faith of crores of people. Therefore, it should be granted the status of National Animal.”

Representatives of the Muslim Mahapanchayat, Nadeem Noor and Amjal Qureshi, stated that the festival of Eid conveys the message of sacrifice and brotherhood. They added that this demand was made on the holy occasion to further strengthen Hindu-Muslim unity and religious harmony in the country.
