No lapses in Security at Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Ornaments Safe too! – Clarification by Temple Administration

Thiruvananthapuram, (Kerala) – Reports citing an intelligence report had claimed that gold biscuits and coins worth crores of rupees had gone missing from the famous Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple and that there were security lapses in the temple. The temple administrative committee has completely denied all these reports. The committee also clarified that these are merely false and baseless rumours.

1. A memorandum has been published by the chief executive officer of the temple stating that the accusations of mismanagement of donations offered by devotees and lapses in security are baseless. Such false information is being spread intentionally to defame this holy region, which has a historic background and to create confusion among people. He assured that the huge wealth and ornaments of the Padmanabhaswamy temple are being guarded with utmost security and sacred feelings.

2. The entire temple premise is always under CCTV surveillance. The Security Department and the Police staff keep a watch on this all the time. The security officer is informed whenever any valuable thing is to be shifted from one place to another, and it is done in his presence. Every staff member entering and leaving the temple premises is checked. This being so, there has been no theft or no malpractice in the temple, clarified the temple administration.

3. The administration has appealed that devotees and people visiting the temple should not believe in any such rumours.

4. Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple has stood as a symbol of devotion, faith and our cultural heritage for centuries. The faith that devotees have in this temple is completely true, and there is no need to worry or panic, states the memorandum.
