More than 50 cows kept for slaughtering rescued from shed

Hindu organisations allege that cows were to be slaughtered on the occasion of Bakri Eid

Bellary (Karnataka) – More than 50 cows, which had been confined in a shed on Golabadi Road for transport to a slaughterhouse, were recently rescued. The cows had reportedly been purchased from another location and brought there.

Acting on a complaint filed by a devout Hindu organisation, Kaul Bazaar Police conducted a raid and rescued the cows. Devout Hindu organisations have alleged that the cows were being kept there in connection with Bakri Eid slaughter preparations. Police stated that the rescued cows would be sent to a goshala (cow shelter).
