Mumbai, 27 May (News) – The decision on the alleged ‘Eidgah’ at Durgadi fort in Kalyan in Thane District is currently subjudice. Despite this, thousands of Muslims have been offering namaz outside Durgadi fort for the past several years by blocking the road there. The outrageous thing is that Hindus are barred from entering the Durga Devi Temple at Durgadi fort during namaz time. Hindus were barred from worshipping Goddess Saraswati in the Bhojshala during Friday namaz too until now. After the Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled that the Bhojshala belongs to Hindus, Hindus can now offer worship there every day.

Evidence against the existence of Eidgah

The outrageous thing is that Muslims had earlier claimed that the temple of Shri Durga Devi on Durgadi fort was also a mosque; however, the Court has ruled that this structure on the fort is indeed a temple. Moreover, the matter of this alleged ‘Eidgah’ is currently pending in the Kalyan District Court. Muslims are alleging that this wall on Durgadi fort is an ‘Eidgah’. Generally, there are minarets on both sides of the ‘Eidgah’. This wall does not have minarets. Generally, in the ‘Eidgah’, there is room kept for Muslim religious leaders to give speeches, but there is no space between these walls. Despite this, for years, the administration has been protecting namaz offerings on the streets bowing down to due to mob rule of Muslims.
