Total 13 individuals arrested so far

Pune (Maharashtra) – In the NEET 2026 question paper leak case, the CBI has arrested two more accused on 27 May. Dr Manoj Shirure of Latur allegedly procured chemistry question papers from accused P.V. Kulkarni for three students, including the son of a coaching centre owner (who himself is an accused). Dr Shirure has been arrested. Tejas Shah, a Physics professor at ‘Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy’ coaching institute in Pune, has also been arrested. He had allegedly received leaked Physics questions for the NEET examination from accused Manisha Hawaldar. So far, total 13 individuals have been arrested in this case. The CBI has conducted raids at 49 different locations in connection with the matter. Maharashtra has emerged as the biggest centre of the paper leak racket. From here, the question bank reportedly reached students in Rajasthan and other States. Investigating agencies are now preparing a list of all parents from whose bank accounts money has been transferred to the accounts of Prof. Shivraj Motegaonkar, Prof. P.V. Kulkarni, and Manisha Waghmare.
Prof. Motegaonkar and Prof. Kulkarni sold question papers to parents for ₹10–12 lakhs
Prof. P.V. Kulkarni and Prof. Shivraj Motegaonkar allegedly sold the NEET examination question paper to parents of students for amounts ranging between ₹10 lakh and ₹12 lakh. It is learnt that several parents transferred money online to the two accused to purchase the question paper. It is also reported that some parents who obtained the paper later sold it further within their own circles for amounts ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Certain doctors in the city allegedly supplied these question papers to the children of their friends. The CBI suspects that after the question paper reached Prof. Motegaonkar’s mobile phone prior to the NEET examination, Prof. Kulkarni and Motegaonkar jointly sold the leaked paper.
The CBI has questioned five doctors from Latur. The children of four of them had appeared for the NEET examination, leading the CBI to suspect their involvement in purchasing the leaked question papers.
