Pune – Police received information that Bangladeshi women were residing illegally in the ‘Sagar Building’ in Budhwar Peth. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police for Zone 1, Rishikesh Rawale, the police conducted a raid on the building. During this operation, six Bangladeshi women were taken into custody. During interrogation, it came to light that these women had illegally infiltrated into India. A case has been registered against them at Faraskhana Police Station for illegal residence.

1. During police interrogation, it was revealed that agents had lured the women to India with promises of providing jobs in beauty parlours, tailoring, and domestic work.
2. These women were later brought to brothels in Budhwar Peth and were threatened and forced into prostitution.
3. Investigation is underway into how these Bangladeshi women crossed the Indian border and how they obtained documents while residing in India.
