WHO declared ‘Global Health Emergency’ a week ago

New Delhi – For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Health Organisation declared a “Global Health Emergency” on 17 May. The contagious disease Ebola is spreading rapidly in African countries. Taking note of the growing global threat, the Government of India has also issued advisory guidelines and warnings.
The Ebola infection is increasing rapidly in the African countries of Congo and Uganda. In view of this, the organisation “Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention” has issued a serious warning regarding Ebola.
Avoid travelling to Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan: Appeal by the Government of India to citizens
While issuing travel advisories for Indian citizens, India’s Health Ministry stated that people should exercise caution while travelling abroad. Citizens have been advised to completely avoid travelling to the African countries of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan. Unless absolutely necessary, travel should be avoided until the situation in these countries returns to normal. People currently residing in these countries, or those travelling to India from there for essential work, have been instructed to strictly follow all guidelines and safety protocols.
