Silver crown weighing 1 kg stolen from Shri Tuljabhavani Temple in Talegaon Dabhade, Pune

Talegaon Dabhade (Pune) – An unidentified thief stole a silver crown weighing approximately 1 kilogram from the idol of the Goddess at the renowned Shri Tuljabhavani Temple in Talegaon Dabhade. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. As soon as the theft came to light, a complaint was lodged at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station. Police visited the scene and inspected the premises. They have taken the CCTV footage into custody and have begun a search for the unidentified thief. Police have appealed that if anyone receives any information regarding the suspect, they should immediately contact the Talegaon Dabhade Police.

1. A man had entered Shri Tuljabhavani Temple for darshan. Initially, he appeared to be peacefully offering prayers to the Goddess. He offered a coconut in his hand and applied kumkum to the Deity.

2. Observing that the priest’s attention was diverted elsewhere, the accused cleverly picked up the silver crown kept inside the sanctum and fled from the temple.

3. Footage of the theft from inside the temple is being widely circulated on social media. This has created anger among devotees.
