If you object to the ban on animal sacrifice, then leave for an Islamic country: Minister Agnimitra Paul

West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul’s reply to MLA Humayun Kabir

Kolkata – The BJP government in West Bengal has imposed a ban on animal sacrifice in public places. Opposing this, MLA Humayun Kabir, who is the president of the Am Janata Unnayan Party, had said that “as long as the world exists, cow sacrifice will continue”. Responding to this statement, State Minister Agnimitra Paul said that if one wishes to live in Bengal, then the rules of the Government must be followed. If anyone objects to the law and regulations, then they may go elsewhere or to Islamic countries. (Bangladesh is the nearest country for Kabir. Since Dhaka is merely 350 kilometres from Kolkata, the BJP government itself should now make arrangements to send Kabir there before Bakri Eid! – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

This is precisely the kind of response expected from a Government towards those demanding cow slaughter, and if the Government is indeed acting in this manner, then Governments with a similar mindset are needed everywhere!
