Man Arrested for Installing CCTV Cameras on National Highway and Supplying Information About Military Movements to Pakistan

Incident in Pathankot (Punjab)

Pathankot (Punjab) – Police have arrested Baljit Singh alias Bittu for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) through CCTV cameras. He was reportedly supplying information regarding the movements of the Indian Army and paramilitary forces to Pakistan.

1. Baljit had installed several CCTV cameras on National Highway-44 near Sujanpur. These cameras had been placed on shops located between Bridge Nos. 4 and 5. The cameras were being used to monitor the movement of military convoys. Live footage from the cameras and other sensitive information were being sent to handlers based in Pakistan and abroad (individuals who control and direct terrorist activities in India). He rused to receive instructions from a person based in Dubai and supplied the information accordingly. For this, he had received ₹40,000.

2. It has also come to light that Vikramjit Singh alias Vikka, Balwinder Singh alias Vicky, and Taranpreet Singh alias Tannu were also involved in the matter. Police are now conducting a detailed investigation into the entire network.
