Case registered against 100 to 150 people for pelting stones at Police in Bandra; 16 arrested

Mumbai – A case of attempt to murder has been registered against 100 to 150 people who pelted stones at the Police during the demolition of illegal constructions in Garib Nagar, Bandra East. 16 people were arrested in this case. 5 Police personnel were injured in the stone-pelting. As per the order of the Bombay High Court, a total of 500 illegal encroachments will be removed. 85 percent of the demolition work has been completed.

Such incidents can be curbed only when culprits are also severely punished, besides registering a crime. The Police should also create fear among the criminals.
