Naming of an airport is a policy decision of the government!

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) – The Supreme Court dismissed the petition seeking that the Navi Mumbai International Airport be named after ‘D.B. Patil’. The Court stated that “the naming of an airport is a policy decision of the government”. Advocate Vikas Patil had filed this petition. The Court observed that “deciding what name should be given to an airport is a policy matter, and the Court cannot interfere in it”. While dismissing the petition, the Court advised the petitioners to pursue the matter with the government and the concerned authority itself.
