Muslim mob attempts to lynch a Hindu youth in Pune

Pune (Maharashtra) – A dispute among children in the Eisha Bella Society of Muslim-majority Kondhwa in Pune escalated into tension after a radicalised Muslim mob came onto the streets and attempted a ‘mob lynching’ of a Hindu youth. The mob also allegedly tried to block roads and disrupt traffic. Slogans were raised publicly, creating an atmosphere of terror in the locality. After the mob entered the premises of the Kondhwa Police Station, stones were pelted at the Police station and Police personnel. Police then resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the rioters. A case has been registered, and a search operation has been launched to apprehend those involved. The incident occurred around midnight on 18th May.

1. Children attending a programme in Esha Bella Society reportedly got into a quarrel and physically attacked each other. Some adults later intervened and attempted to give the dispute a communal angle.

2. The mob gathered on the streets and obstructed traffic. Some passers-by were also assaulted. Slogans such as ‘Allahu Akbar’ and ‘La ilaha illallah’ (There is no one else worthy of worship except Allah) were raised while roads were blocked, creating an environment of terror in the area.

3. A heavy Police force was deployed to bring the situation under control. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar personally visited the spot to monitor the situation and prevent any untoward incident.

4. A large Police presence continues in the Kondhwa area, and the situation is currently reported to be peaceful.

• Owing to such incidents, question arises whether Pune is located in India or in Bangladesh or Pakistan? To prevent such incidents from recurring, the people of Pune must step forward to form a strong Hindu organisation.
• The fact that a mob of fanatical Muslims becomes so aggressive over a petty quarrel among children suggests that these people are simply looking for excuses to instigate riots!
• Hindus in the state have now begun to feel that the Maharashtra Police should adopt measures such as bulldozer action, similar to the administration of Yogi Adityanath, in order to crush the mentality of rioters.
