241 candidates of Indian origin win in 32 London municipalities

London (Britain) – In the recently held local body elections across 32 municipalities in London, 241 representatives from the British Hindu Indian diaspora community emerged victorious. The winning candidates included members from the Conservative Party, Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Reform UK and the Green Party. In several wards, candidates of Indian origin achieved complete dominance.

All three councillors elected from the Queensbury Ward of Brent Borough, located near London city, are of Indian origin.  Among them is Manoj Mishra, who traces his roots to Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. He said that maintaining constant contact with the public and consistently raising local issues proved beneficial in the election.
