Buffaloes to be sacrificed on Bakri Eid named ‘Trump’ and ‘Netanyahu’ in Bangladesh

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Buffaloes being sold for sacrifice during Bakri Eid in Bangladesh have been named “Donald Trump” and “Benjamin Netanyahu”. Both buffaloes belong to the albino (pink-white) breed. They have been kept for sale at a farm in Narayanganj for the Eid festival. The buffalo named “Trump” is said to weigh around 700 kilograms. Its distinguishing feature is the tuft of golden-coloured hair on its face, which reminds people of Donald Trump’s well-known hairstyle.

The owner, Ziauddin, is extremely pleased that the buffalo has become famous. He said that his brother noticed the buffalo’s unique appearance and gave it the name “Trump”. Another buffalo was named “Netanyahu”. According to Ziauddin, the buffalo named Trump is very calm and gentle, which does not match Donald Trump’s personality at all.

Ziauddin further stated that the angry movements of the “Netanyahu” buffalo resembled the image of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and hence it was given that name. The buffalo named “Trump” has already been sold for 3,85,000 taka (Bangladeshi currency), equivalent to approximately ₹3 lakh in Indian currency.
