Declare the cow as the ‘National Animal’ and ban cow slaughter across the country!

  • Declare the cow as the ‘National Animal’ and ban cow slaughter across the country : Haji Mohammad Parvez Siddiqui, National Minority Reservation Front

  • National Minority Reservation Front’s National President Haji Mohammad Parvez Siddiqui writes to PM Modi and all Chief Ministers demanding this.

Muzaffarpur (Bihar) – National Minority Reservation Front’s National President Haji Mohammad Parvez Siddiqui and Islamic intellectual Haji Mohammad Parvez Siddiqui have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Ministers of all the States of the country, demanding that the cow be declared the national animal and a complete ban on cow slaughter and cow sacrifice across the country.

The cow is fundamental to Indian culture and the rural economy

Haji Mohammad Parvez Siddiqui said, ‘The cow is not just a symbol of religious devotion but a living symbol of the Indian rural economy, agricultural system and environmental protection. The sentiments of crores of people are connected with the cow, and cow protection is a matter related to the cultural identity of Indian society.’ In the letter, he referred to the Directive Principles of the Indian Constitution and cited Article 48, which deals with the protection of cattle.

The demand is not against any religion

Siddiqui clarified that his demand for a ban on cow slaughter is not against any particular religion or community. (How many Muslim leaders will publicly support Siddiqui’s statement? – Editor). The Muslim community in India has always been a supporter of peace, brotherhood and mutual respect. I aim to strengthen social harmony, animal protection and national unity. There is a need for dialogue and balance, not conflict on sensitive issues.

Demands made to the Union Government

1. Declaring the cow as the national animal should be seriously considered.

2. A Cow Protection Commission should be established at the national level.

3. A national consensus should be built by engaging with representatives of all religions and communities.

Editorial Perspective

  • Why does this even need to be told to governments?
  • Since the president of a national Muslim organization has demanded this, will the Congress governments in Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, etc. which try to appease Muslims, implement this demand in their respective States ?
