Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “What evidence do you have that atrocities against Muslims are taking place in the Indian States of West Bengal and Assam? Old incidents are being circulated on social media. Our Foreign Ministry has not received any such report,” Bangladesh Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said, thereby silencing radical Muslims in Bangladesh who were making allegations against India.
After the BJP came to power in West Bengal and Assam, Bangladesh’s ‘Jamaat-e-Islami’ and its allied parties had alleged that action against Muslims in India had intensified. These organisations had also demanded that the Dhaka Government summon the Indian Ambassador. Organisations such as the ‘Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish’ had also levelled allegations against India and demanded that the Government adopt a strict stance.
