Arrested accused

Bhopal, MP – The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested three youths from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly having links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The accused have been identified as Anmol Rai (24), Rajveer (21) and Vivek Banjara (19). (The names of the arrested accused are Hindu. It should also be investigated whether they were brainwashed and whether there was a conspiracy to convert them and use them for jihadi activities ! – Editor)

The three accused were allegedly planning to bomb historical temples in Delhi, a dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway and a military base in Haryana.

Police Inspector Kushwaha from the Delhi Special Cell stated that all three accused belong to poor families. Suspicious audio and video calls on their mobile phones were traced to suspicious numbers. It was also found that photographs of specific locations had been sent to Pakistan through social media. Suspicious e-mails were also recovered from them. The Police are now investigating what inducements were offered to involve them in the terror conspiracy.

Revelation under ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’

Under the Delhi Police Special Cell’s ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’ — a campaign launched to dismantle criminal gangs — nine suspects linked to the Shahzad Bhatti module had earlier been arrested from various States. During interrogation, it emerged that one of the accused had conducted reconnaissance of a historical temple in Delhi before the planned attack. Photographs of the area had allegedly been sent to Pakistan through social media. The arrested accused were allegedly planning to attack the Police personnel and paramilitary soldiers deployed at the temple and spread terror.

Editorial Perspective

Many such persons have been arrested earlier. Had they been immediately sentenced to death for treason, nobody would have dared to indulge in such acts !
