Muslims pelt stones at Maharana Pratap Jayanti procession in Hapur (Uttar Pradesh) : Hindus retaliate

Hapur (Uttar Pradesh) – Muslims allegedly pelted stones at a procession taken out in Dehra village here on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti. Several people were injured in the incident. Following this, enraged Hindus adopted an aggressive stance and retaliated strongly. This led to major tension in the area. Faced with the aggressive response from Hindus, fear spread among those involved in the stone-pelting. After the strong retaliation by Hindus, the rioters were seen fleeing to save themselves. During the clashes, some rioters were caught by the retaliating crowd and beaten severely.

1. As soon as information about the incident was received, the Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. A heavy Police force has now been deployed in the area. Demands are being raised for strict action against those responsible for the violence.

2. So far, 2 people have been arrested in connection with the case. Efforts are underway to identify the others involved in the stone-pelting. The Police had recorded the procession using drones, and the footage is now being used to trace the accused.
