Nine ministers sworn-in in the cabinet

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – On 10.05.2026, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Chief Joseph Vijay took the oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In the ceremony held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, the State Governor Rajendra Arlekar gave him the oath. Eight ministers were also sworn in along with Vijay. Governor Arlekar has asked Vijay to prove his majority in the assembly before or by 13.05.2026.

Three announcements made by CM Joseph Vijay
After taking oath, Chief Minister Joseph Vijay announced three things to the people and that are – free electricity up to 200 units for domestic consumers, to give priority to women’s safety and to form ‘Special Task Force’ to stop drug-trafficking.
