487 schools in the State are unauthorised !

76 schools shut down, while cases registered against 111 schools

Mumbai – A total of 487 schools in the State are unauthorised. The highest number of such schools is in the Mumbai division. Of these schools, only 76 have been shut down, while cases have merely been registered against 111 schools. Parents have been appealed not to admit their children to unauthorised schools. In this matter, punitive action has been taken against 315 schools across the State. In reality, fines have been recovered in only 16 cases, according to information provided by the Education Commissioner. Every year, the Education Department or the Zilla Parishad releases a list of unauthorised schools.
