New Delhi – The Union Government has appointed Lieutenant General N.S. Raja Subramani as the country’s next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). He will also hold the responsibility of Secretary of the Department of Military Affairs. The tenure of the current CDS, General Anil Chauhan, will end on 30 May.
Lt Gen Subramani is currently serving as Military Adviser in the National Security Council Secretariat. Earlier, he served in positions such as Vice Chief of the Indian Army and GOC-in-C (General Officer Commanding-in-Chief) of the Central Command. He will be the country’s third Chief of Defence Staff.
