  • Suggestions and objections invited till 5 June !

Mumbai, 6 May (News) – The draft of the ‘Maharashtra Devasthan Inam Abolition Act, 2026’ for abolishing the inam lands of temples in the State has been uploaded on the Revenue Department’s website. The inam lands belonging to temples had been given to tenants, hereditary occupants, or other individuals for cultivation for several years. These lands can now be sold, and the revenue from them must be paid to the Government. However, the ‘Waqf Act’ and the ‘Hyderabad Atiyat Inquiry Act’ have been excluded from the scope of this Act. Suggestions and objections regarding this Act are invited till 5 June and must be submitted to the Divisional Commissioners. Suggestions and objections received thereafter will not be considered.
