Stop Japan, otherwise it will conduct nuclear test ! : China urges United Nations

Beijing (China) – China has urged the United Nations that Japan is trying to develop nuclear weapons at a fast pace and if it is not stopped, it can also conduct a nuclear test  in the future. In
a report published by China’s Foreign Ministry, it has alleged that Japan has acquired the ability to prepare plutonium. Japan has the necessary ‘re-processing’ technology and facilities. China has also presented some data to substantiate its claims.

Does Japan have enough reserves to produce 5,500  nuclear bombs ?

China says Japan has more plutonium stockpiles than it needs for its civilian nuclear program. According to Japanese government data, the country had 44.4 tons of refined plutonium at the end of 2024, which China claims  is enough to produce an estimated 5,500 nuclear weapons.
