Iraqi MP Accuses US and Israel of ‘Cloud Theft’

Claims Cloud Theft is Causing Drought in Gulf Countries

Baghdad (Iraq)– Against the backdrop of the Iran war, Iraqi MP Abdullah al-Khaikhani has accused the United States and Israel of stealing clouds from the Gulf region. Abdullah al-Khaikhani claims that for many years, the US and Israel have been using aircraft to steal clouds from the Gulf. According to him, this is the reason why the region has been facing a prolonged drought. He added that since the US and Israel are currently preoccupied with the war against Iran, they are not paying as much attention to stealing clouds, which is why rain has returned to the area.

Abdullah further claimed that rainfall was intentionally stopped by altering the atmosphere. He alleged that an ‘Atmospheric Modification Weapon’ was used for the cloud theft.

Meteorologists Dismiss the Claim

1. Amr al-Jabiri, spokesperson for Iraq’s Meteorological Department, stated, “This claim is neither scientific nor logical.” He pointed out that it was predicted as early as September last year that 2026 would be a rainy year for Iraq.

2. Experts suggest that such claims arise from a lack of trust and an inadequate understanding of meteorology. This is, in fact, an impact of climate change.

3. According to information provided by the World Meteorological Organization, temperatures in this region have risen at twice the global average rate over the past few decades. This causes heatwaves to last longer and become more intense, while rainfall becomes erratic. Overall, while rainfall is decreasing, when it does occur, it is extremely heavy, increasing the risk of both floods and droughts.
