Apology issued by singer for parodying a devotional song of Shri Ekvira Devi following objections by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal

  • Reference to ‘Allah’ inserted into a Hindu devotional song

  • Hindus seen dancing to the parody performance

Singer Sunny Sante

Dombivli (Thane), Maharashtra – At a haldi ceremony in a Hindu family in Dombivli, singer Sunny Sante performed a distorted version of a popular devotional song dedicated to Shri Ekvira Devi. He altered the original lyrics by inserting lines such as:

“Allah maza konala pavla? Pavla Rafiq ye, Rafiq ye mandavala, Pavla Mohammad ye, Mohammad ye mandavala”

Additionally, he reportedly used abusive language during the performance. Notably, members of the audience, who were Hindus, were seen dancing, and no one objected at the time.

Following strong reactions from the Agri-Koli Hindu organisations, the singer issued an apology stating:

“I assure you that such a mistake will not happen again. I sincerely apologise. Even if someone requests such songs in the future, I will refuse. I am prepared to shut down my orchestra if needed.”

Shubham Salunkhe, district publicity head of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and co-coordinator of Bajrang Dal in Ambernath, expressed anger on social media, stating that strict action should be taken against such acts.

“This was all meant for fun!” – Singer Sunny Sante

During the performance, the singer had reportedly requested the audience:
“This is just for fun. Please don’t record videos, or it could create trouble. Our program may get shut down.” (This raises a question: Why did no one object at that moment ? – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

  • Pursuing entertainment and money at any cost, and then apologizing later—this pattern is no longer being accepted by Hindus.
  • Such ideologically converted individuals should face social boycott.
  • Those who participate in or remain silent about such acts are real enemies of Hindu Dharma.
  • Today, such a song was sung at one programme; tomorrow, if songs glorifying the Muslim religion are sung everywhere, it should not come as a surprise !
