Opposition demands action against Congress leader

Hazaribagh (Jharkhand) – Two journalists were allegedly assaulted by supporters of Congress leader and Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari after they questioned him in Hazaribagh. The incident has triggered anger among the journalist community. Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi has demanded strict action against the minister and his supporters. According to reports, News18 Jharkhand journalist Sushant Soni was assaulted by the minister’s supporters, allegedly at his behest.

The minister had visited Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College to meet families affected by the accident. After interacting with the victims’ families, he addressed the media. During the interaction, journalists raised questions regarding delays in compensation for victims of the Chatra accident. This reportedly angered the minister’s supporters, who then allegedly assaulted journalists Sushant Soni and Ashish Saw. Eyewitnesses present at the scene stated that the assault took place in the presence of the minister and the police.

Opposition warns of a statewide protest !

Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi strongly condemned the assault on journalists. He urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take immediate action in the matter and fix accountability on those responsible. The opposition has also issued a warning of a statewide protest over the incident.
