Mumbai – In the Mira Road (East) area, a Muslim youth named Jaib Zubair Ansari asked security guards at a building under construction about their names and religion and then asked them to recite the Kalma. When they were unable to do so, he attacked them with a knife. Based on CCTV footage, the police arrested Jaib Zubair Ansari from a rented house in Naya Nagar. The incident occurred on 26 April at 4 pm. Security guard Rajkumar Mishra was injured in the attack, while Subroto Sen managed to escape and survived.

Jaib Zubair Ansari is highly educated and had studied in the United States until 2019. After returning to India, he began conducting tuition classes in chemistry and mathematics. During the police investigation, it was found that he had been regularly watching videos of the terrorist organisation ISIS on social media. The Anti-Terrorism Squad is conducting further investigation in this regard.
